Five-Step Modeling Method

Whenever working with our faculty, we practice the Five-Step Modeling Method, as shown below.

  • Step 1

    The content area faculty member and Educational Technologist plan together for a technology-integrated lesson/project.

  • Step 2

    The Educational Technologist may model the lesson with the content area faculty member, providing only content assistance as needed.

  • Step 3

    The next day or period, the Educational Technologist and the content area faculty member may co-teach the same (or similar) lesson, sharing responsibilities 50/50.

  • Step 4

    The content area faculty member teaches the lesson, with the Educational Technologist assisting with technology use as needed.

  • Step 5

    The content area faculty member and the Educational Technologists review, reflect, and evaluate the lesson and make a plan for future projects.
